BIO TV/FILM REEL VOICE-OVER GALLERY NEWS
Hunter Austin knew she wanted to be in show business from the time she was a child in San Diego, CA. She shared a love of theater & classic movie musicals with her British mom, & a creative penchant for drawing & writing with her architect/civil engineer dad. While still in kindergarten, Hunter discovered joy & excitement in watching sitcoms, the Tony & Emmy Awards. She was determined to someday be inside the TV. The family garage was transformed early on into a rehearsal hall for Hunter to practice tap dancing, put on shows & record her own voice overs. Although shy, she made her stage debut modeling tennis wear in a fashion show at age 6.

After studying a book titled, How To Put Your Kid In Showbiz, Hunter took it upon herself to call a talent agency & set up her own meeting. Her wholesome look & ability to memorize dialogue impressed the agents enough to sign her. With her parents support, she immediately began commuting to Los Angeles for auditions. She was called back on her first audition & soon landed jobs in commercials for Wendys, Nissan, Titleist Golf Balls, Opal Fruits & AMC Movie Theaters. She also won roles in the musicals Yankee Doodle Boy & Bah Humbug, acting, singing & dancing in large theatre productions, both pilot presentations for the then brand new HBO network.

Acting classes in Hollywood & days spent on sets were dreams come true. On weekends her dad would also make the drive from San Diego so that Hunter could perform in Danielle Brisebois' Cabaret For Kids. The train commute to & from LA with her mom was the perfect time to do homework, write poetry & plan goals. Hunter often arrived home from LA just in time to run back out the door to public school by 8am. Not one to ever stop moving, Hunter also excelled in sports. She was a first round draft pick on 2 softball leagues, where her pitching stats garnered her a spot on an all star team. She also brought home awards for running, swimming, dance & horse back riding.

By 15 Hunter added published author to her resume. She penned articles for Tiger Beat, Glamour, LA Weekly, etc. Her tenacity & enthusiasm intrigued the celebrities she approached for interviews, & Hunter's journalistic endeavors were often made cover stories for national magazines & radio shows. She was hired to write a monthly column covering Hollywood kids, & served as associate editor for Young People Today Magazine. Her dream of being the youngest person to accomplish something came true when she won the prestigious Camille Award for her literary achievements at such a young age. CBS News aired a segment on Hunter, which lead to her pitching her first script for Make The Right Choice, a campaign complete with musical numbers Hunter wrote to encourage kids to get high on their goals & dreams, not drugs & alcohol.

After moving to Los Angeles Hunter was able to pursue acting full time. Guest starring roles on Murder She Wrote, Parker Lewis Can't Lose & others, led to her favorite role as Matthew Perry's (Friends) girlfriend, Sherry, on The Tracey Ullman Show fpr 20th Century Fox. Hunter then went on to spend a season as a series regular on the Disney series, Teen Angel, starring as Carolyn with Beverly Hills 90210's Jason Priestly.

Her love of TV inspired her to create & write her own pilot scripts for sit coms & one hour dramas. Within one year of setting up her own pitch meetings, eleven of those pilot scripts were optioned by prominent Emmy winning production companies & networks.

Leeza Gibbons signed on to write the foreword for The Secret Days Of Sydney & Cassidy, a children's book written & photographed by Hunter. A book deal & a passion for sharing the importance of imagination, brought a national talk show & book signing tour. After seeing Hunter on a talk show, Dick Clark Productions nabbed her to host Dog Dish, a talk show pilot she also co wrote & produced. The E! Network brought Hunter on for 2 episodes of their style show, Shabby Chic, episodes that were written to showcase the home that Hunter bought & remodeled. She created a haven to share with her Great Dane, Bloodhound, cat & horse, & recently added a home movie theatre!

Hunter just completed 2 more Sydney & Cassidy books & is shopping them to publishers. In front of the camera, she continues to act in commercials & TV (check out the NEWS page for air dates) & she has starring roles in the upcoming feature films, Among Us & Remmer. She recently guest starred as a drug addict turned counselor on Lifetime's What Should You Do, & is currently voicing Michelle in 24 episodes of her 8th animated series, Read Or Die.

Hunter's future goals are diverse. She has a desire to complete bible college. She wants to be a series regular on a sit com that eventually lives on in syndication. And her new favorite sport is canyoneering. She recently rappelled down 450 feet of pounding waterfalls, & plans to canyoneer in Maui by the end of the year.

Above all, Hunter longs to share what Christ has done with & in her life. She is active in Media Fellowship International, a ministry she was introduced to in 1989. MFI has given her the opportunity to travel & share her testimony, have bible studies in her home & be blessed with friendships that are family. Hunter is grateful for the creativity, determination & faith instilled in her from the beginning. She believes that if you Delight yourself in the Lord, HE will give you the desires of your heart."
